Geno's Tomorrow Night

I can't believe it came this fast. Tomorrow night is the big Signing at the world famous Geno's Steaks in South Philly. We are all pumped for this one. Toni G. was up all night working. She didn't tell me (modesty), but I can tell from the flurry of emails between 1:00 & 4:00 AM. Thank You! Thanks to everyone working to make this happen.
Lots to do for tomorrow night.
Also, we saved the first ten books (hardcover) from the Woolly Mammoth signing and they are now on eBay (thanks to "Five Star's" idea). We're gonna do that for each signing.
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and can't wait to see ya tomorrow night.

Geno's Steaks Signing

Hi everyone. I can announce the place for the second book signing. It will be on November 27 (Black Saturday) at The World Famous Geno's Steaks in the heart of South Philly. Time TBA. I'm really excited about this one. Those guys are great Friends of mine.
We have just firmed up the details for the Nov. 20 signing at the Woolly Mammoth. This should be a great night. Meghan at the Mammoth is the BEST! We'll be doing other signings in the Olde City area before the end of the year.
Well, as usual, we're working on a ton of things, which I'll announce when things are firmed up.
Again, I can't wait to see everyone at the Woolly Mammoth on the 20th and/or Geno's on the 27th.
Ciao.

Correction...

The spelling of the location on the previous post is incorrect. The signing will be at the Woolly Mammoth. Again:

The Woolly Mammoth
South St. Philly
November 20,
from 7 to 10 pm.

Address and phone on the previous post.

Sorry for the misspelling. We're lining up other signings for before the Holidays.
We're still waiting on a few calls. No real big news yet. Stay tuned.
The screenplay will be sent to The Library of Congress next week for the official copyright. Then to the Producers.
Almost forgot, we're considering some radio interviews. I'll let you know when they'll be on.
By the way, the hits on this blog and the site are growing, big time! Thank you.

Till next time,
Ray

First Book Signing

Hi All,

We just sealed our first book signing. It will be at the Wholly Mammoth on South St. in Philadelphia on November 20 from 7 to about 10.

430 South St
Philadelphia‎ PA‎ 19147-1535
(215) 923-8780

I would love to see everyone out that night. It's a great place with great people.
Also, we received some very good news a couple days ago concerning the Agent. We'll know more early next week. The first draft to the screenplay is now complete and will be off to CA to a few Producers. That should be interesting.
Many other things are moving fast and furious... I'll let you all in once I can.
Have a great weekend.

Hey Gang,

Wow, the blog has only been up for two days and already over a half dozen followers. Great stuff.
A few quick things. We are working on some signing dates. I can't publish were or when just yet, as they have not been firmed up. Two of which I can say are The Wholly Mammoth on South Street in Philly and one in Camden with another author on November 13. This date is tentative and location TBA.
Also, I hope to be publishing in ebook form shortly. More on that as the process moves on.
The first draft of the screenplay (rev. 5) is complete and has to be edited. We are targeting three CA Producers who've expressed interest. Keep those fingers crossed. That's it for now... have a great weekend.

Welcome...

Thank you for visiting the blog for Lombard Writing.
We're in the middle of working on so many things to bring the book/movie of More Like Brothers to the next level, I figured we'd let everyone tag along for the ride.
It should prove to be unique in a away as people will have the opportunity to see the project make it... or not. The website <www.lombardwriting.com> is great, but fails in keeping up with the day-to-day of this thing of mine.
I'll be blogging with news as it comes to keep everyone abreast of the triumphs and setbacks we encounter along the way... warts and all.
So come along, be a follower and see where this baby, my dream, goes.

Come on... let's do this!

What started out as a genealogical project turned into the novel; More Like Brothers. As the first generation of Italian’s to be born in America began to fade away, author Ray Lombard was compelled to capture as much of his family's history as possible. After all, his family came to America with big hopes and dreams and the cultural heritage, traditions, sacrifices, pain and everything in between, which was endured to become American, must be preserved.
Throughout his life, Ray Lombard was told that he was the reincarnation of his Uncle Manny, who had long ago disappeared. It was on a cold winter’s night in February, 1939, that a young, self confident twenty-six year-old Manny Lombardi left his home in Camden, New Jersey for a meeting, never to be seen again. This mystery would hang like a shroud over the Lombard family for decades.
Family members would constantly remark that Lombard’s looks, mannerisms and even his voice were like that of his Uncle Manny. It was when Lombard became an adult that he started asking questions about the mysteries surrounding Uncle Manny's life. After repeated attempts, he was given very few answers from family members and was told to stop asking so many questions.
My own investigation, which became an all encompassing ten-year quest finally revealed the details and the truth was uncovered, says Lombard. I believe the affinity between my uncle and I allowed me access what Manny was really thinking as he weaved his way through the world of Camden Organized Crime. Once assembled, the puzzle came together in a very clear and concise picture about how a close-knit Italian family survived during a rough and tumble, dangerous time, when it was necessary for the cousins to holdfast and to be… More Like Brothers.
